Calgary Dollars Potluck/Market

Calgary Dollars Potlucks take place on the second Wednesday of every month from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Potlucks are held at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association (HSCA). The address is 1320 5 Ave NW.

Potlucks are an excellent opportunity to sell items for Calgary Dollars, meet other members of the Calgary Dollars Community, or sign up to become a new member. Please bring a small food item (enough to share with about six people). If you'd like to set up a table of items for sale in C$, please call our office at 270-8002.

Happy Hour

The Arusha Happy Hour has been replaced with extended wednesday hours, weekly until 6pm.

Arusha Actions

Arusha Actions are events which give Calgarians opportunities for action on social and environmental issues. The Arusha Action series presents timely, engaging films, guest speakers, events that showcase the hero and action figures in our every day lives. These Info-Active events help Calgarians take information into action by bringing together local researchers, performers, filmmakers and activists. Each of the Action Films and many more are available from the Arusha lending library.

Take Action Grant Applications Due First of the Month

Take Action Grants have been issued by Calgary Dollars (C$) since it began circulating complementary currency in 1996. These grants, issued in 50% C$ and Canadian dollars, are designated for social and environmental projects in Calgary. Grants help educate Calgarians about the role of complementary currency, expand the amount of C$ in circulation, educate Calgarians about social and environmental issues in our city, and provide much-needed funds to initiatives.
